This page covers buying Pirate Life in USDC or by card, downloading it and using the unlock code, with no account to make.
When you pay in USDC
You pay from your own wallet or exchange, so we get no card details.
- What we get: your email, the order number, the price, and the deposit address made for your order.
- Why: to see your payment, make your unlock code (it carries your email), show it to you on the order page, and email it to you.
- Who handles it: Cloudflare's servers in the United States keep the order, and Postmark sends the email with your unlock code. The payment itself sits on a public blockchain, where anyone can see its amount, its time and the address it came from.
- How long: as long as you may need your code sent again, and as long as the law requires us to keep order records. If you ask us to delete it, we can no longer send your code again. A payment on the public blockchain cannot be removed by anyone.
When you pay by card
Polar sells the game as the seller of record. Its checkout collects your name, email, payment details and country for tax, and Polar handles those under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your card details.
- What we get from Polar: your email, your name if you gave one, the order number and the price.
- Why: to make your unlock code (it carries your email), show it on the page you land on after checkout, and email it to you.
- Who handles it: Polar keeps the order, as its own business and under its own policy. The code is made on Cloudflare's servers, which also keep it so the page you land on after checkout can show it to you, and Postmark sends the email with your unlock code. All three are in the United States. You give your details to Polar directly, which EU rules do not count as a transfer out of the EU; for its own transfers Polar uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- How long: we keep your email and order number while you may need your code sent again, and as long as the law requires us to keep order records. If you ask us to delete them, we can no longer send your code again. Polar keeps its own order record under its policy.
When you download and play
- The download comes from our server on Cloudflare in the United States, which sees your internet address in order to send the file.
- The game checks your unlock code on your computer and keeps it in the game's own folder there. It does not send the code anywhere.
- This version of Pirate Life does not connect to the internet while you play, and it has no analytics or ads. If that changes, it will be your choice to turn on, and this page will say so first.
Your choices
We use your email only for your purchase and replies to messages you send us. No newsletter unless you sign up for one. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, to correct it or to delete it, and we answer within 30 days: support@barkbabark.com. If you live in the EU or UK, the basis for this is the contract you made when you bought, and you can complain to your data protection authority.
Who we are
Pirate Life is made by bark babark, a brand of Tidy Machines LLC, a Wyoming company. Tidy Machines LLC is the controller of the details we hold, and Polar is a separate controller of what it collects at checkout. Questions about this page: support@barkbabark.com.
